2. WHAT PERSONAL DATA WE COLLECT AND WHY

We collect personal data only when there is a clear and lawful reason to do so. The data we may collect includes:

Name and email address — when you subscribe to our newsletter, download a freebie, purchase a workbook, or enrol in a coaching program.

Payment information — when you purchase a program or workbook. Payment transactions are processed securely by Stripe (stripe.com). We do not store your card details on our servers. Stripe acts as a data processor on our behalf and processes your payment data in accordance with their own Privacy Policy (stripe.com/privacy).

Communications data — any information you share with us via email, contact forms, or coaching sessions.

Coaching session content — information you share during 1:1 or group coaching, including personal circumstances, goals, and reflections. This information is held in strict confidence and is never shared with third parties.

Website usage data — including IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time spent on pages. This is collected automatically via cookies and tools such as Google Analytics.

3. THE LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING YOUR DATA

Under GDPR, we must have a lawful basis for collecting and using your personal data. We rely on the following:

Contractual necessity — when processing your data is necessary to fulfil a service you have purchased, such as a coaching program or workbook.

Legitimate interests — when we have a genuine business reason to process your data, such as improving our website or sending relevant content to existing clients.

Consent — when you have actively opted in, such as subscribing to our newsletter. You may withdraw your consent at any time.

Legal obligation — when we are required to retain certain data for tax or legal compliance purposes.

4. HOW WE USE YOUR PERSONAL DATA

We use your personal data to:

  • Deliver the coaching programs, workbooks, and services you have purchased
  • Send you newsletters, content, and program-related communications (only with your consent)
  • Process and record payments via Stripe
  • Respond to your questions and enquiries
  • Improve our website and content
  • Meet our legal and tax obligations

We will never sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling.

5. EMAIL MARKETING

You may unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email, or by contacting us directly at luciana@findingthebliss.com.

We do not send unsolicited emails. It is a promise.

7. HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR DATA

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary:

  • Clients and program participants: for up to 10 years after our last interaction, in compliance with Portuguese tax and legal requirements
  • Website usage data (analytics): as configured in Google Analytics (typically 26 months)
  • Payment records: for 10 years, as required by Portuguese tax law

8. YOUR RIGHTS UNDER GDPR

As a resident of the European Union (or a client engaging with an EU-based business), you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right to access — you may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Right to rectification — you may ask us to correct any inaccurate data

  • Right to data portability — you may request your data in a portable format
  • Right to object — you may object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Right to withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at luciana@findingthebliss.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Portuguese data protection authority, the CNPD (cnpd.pt).

9. DATA SECURITY

We take the security of your personal data seriously. We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information from unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

We work with the following trusted third-party services that may process your data on our behalf:

  • Stripe — payment processing (stripe.com/privacy)

  • MailerLite — email communications

Each of these providers operates under their own privacy policies and data processing agreements. Where required by GDPR, we have Data Processing Agreements in place with these providers.

11. COACHING CONFIDENTIALITY

Everything shared within a coaching relationship — whether in 1:1 sessions or group coaching — is held in strict confidence. As a professional coach, confidentiality is a cornerstone of my practice and my ethics.

The only exceptions are where disclosure is required by law, or where there is a serious and immediate risk of harm to you or others. In such circumstances, I will always seek to discuss this with you first where it is safe to do so.
