IT’S NEVER TOO LATE

The day I realised it’s never too late, everything changed in my life.

If you have been following Finding The Bliss for a while you probably know what I am talking about.

However, if you are new to the blog, you can see here how and why Finding The Bliss started.

At a time when we had a very powerful urge to change various aspects of our lives, there was one particular book that opened the box of worms and pushed us out of our comfort zone.

That book was The Success Principles, as you may also know. I have now read it so many times that the pages are turning yellow and the coloured highlights are fading away.

What will never fade away are its simple and sometimes obvious, yet powerful teachings.

So much so that this year I am sharing these principles, in bite sizes, every day, in my Instagram and here in the blog.

Just as I needed to read those words all those years back, I know that there are people out there who can use a bit of motivation and inspiration. That’s why I am here; and if I can help empower only one person my mission will be accomplished.

BIG DECISIONS COME WITH BIG CHANGES

Since this Life Makeover started, about five years ago, so many things have happened.

We can only be grateful for so many wonderful experiences and life lessons.

Yes, there has been hardship and frustration and setbacks. But there has also been incredible inner growth, appreciation for what we have and for each other.

In five years, we closed our company, travelled, made friends and left some behind in the process.

In every stop, we wonder if that will be our next home, but so far that answer is never too clear.

On my side, I discovered a whole new world in the online sphere. The endless challenges of learning how to set up and run a blog and a Youtube channel, made me step into a new reality that many, erroneously, still call it “the future”.

LOOKING BACK

This is what happened since we started our Life Makeover.

  • First, we realized our life/work balance was totally wrong. Our company was taking way too much time, energy and livelihood;
  • In 2015, we took our first vacation in a long time. A trip to Thailand and Bali was all we needed to make us realize how much life was out there for us to explore.
  • At the end of that year, we went on a Yoga Retreat on the Portuguese island of Madeira. Thanks to this trip we ended up moving to Madeira for three months before we decided it was time to move again.
  • In 2017, after Madeira Island, we headed to Malaysia, where we did some volunteer work with Workaway in a small resort on the island of Langkawi.
  • When we left Malyasia, after spending 3 and half months on Langkawi island we knew we wanted to go back. On December 28th we were on a flight back to Malaysia.
  • We spent the first 8 months of 2018 between MalaysiaBali and a short trip to Thailand
  • On our way back, we stopped in the UK to see if that could be our next home. Definitely not!
  • Back to our home country, Portugal, we had two months to pack our house because it was being sold. (This is when the real challenges started!)
  • We sold a house, bought another one, went through 14 months of real hardship while remodelling it. (We are actually just finishing it within the next couple of weeks).
  • But this new house was not “it”, so we are moving again, to a new place in Portugal, in search of our bliss.

CONCLUSION

At the moment, we are still figuring many things out. However, knowing that it’s never too late, makes the bumps on the road more bearable.

Gratitude, compassion, pacience, persistence and perseverance are of essence.

Ultimately, believing that everything happens for a reason and that miracles do happen makes the journey much sweeter.

I hope this post, along with others in this blog, inspires you to step forward and make the changes you want to make in your life.

Tells us in the comments below what is your greatest dream at the moment.

May The Bliss be with you,

Luciana
